Getting cash for your non-matured State of Israel Bond is easy.
If your bonds are already mature, please contact Bank of New York at: 866-764-3425
Here is what is needed:
1) The physical bond certificate.
2) A properly signed assignment (Bond Power) that you may print out. Have this form medallion guaranteed (see instructions below).
Instructions:
1) Print out a separate assignment form for each bond certificate.
2) Form must be signed on the bottom right side where indicated by an "X".
3) Any and all parties must sign exactly the way any and all names appear on the face of the certificate, including middle initials, misspellings, etc.
4) All signatures must be medallion guaranteed by a financial institution (bank, stock brokerage etc.).
5) If the registered name is an entity other than an individual (e.g. corporation, partnership, unincorporated association), supporting documentation is needed. For such cases print out a corporate resolution, have an officer, partner or official of this entity fill out, sign and medallion guarantee the form. This officer MUST NAME ANOTHER officer who is authorized to sign on behalf of this entity. That other officer must then be the one who signs on behalf of that entity, with a medallion guarantee. If you have any questions please call us at 888-792-9328.
6) If the registered name is any other sort of entity ( trust, estate, fund, IRA etc.), please call us for further instructions.
7) If the registered name no longer legally exists (deceased, bankrupt corporation, dissolved partnership, etc. ) or in the event of technical legalities (minors, custodianship, liquidator, estate etc.), please call us for further instructions.
IMPORTANT NOTE:
All assignment forms (powers) and other paperwork should be left completely blank, aside from the signature(s) and medallion guarantee. The reason is that this is a negotiable legal document and any mistake whatsoever, or crossings out or white-outs or erasures will render the form null and void from a legal standpoint.
Once everything is properly completed, make a note (or keep a copy) of the the bond certificate numbers and send them via registered mail, UPS, FedEx, or any service that provides you with a receipt. We recommend sending the bond in separate envelope than the paperwork. Upon receipt, payment is generally sent out within 24-48 hours.
